The Manila International Book Fair and The First Filipino Reader Conference

September is only a few weeks away, and there are so many things to get excited for as the next month rolls in. One of these is the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF), an annual event now on its 32nd year that exhibits local and international book publishers catering to the wide and varied interests of Filipino readers. After hearing so much about MIBF on my college days, especially from my librarian-cousin, I only had the pleasure of attending it for the first time during the previous year. But I tell you, my entire loot during the two day book scrounging sure does made up for the years that I missed it!

Aside from the discount, great deals and book-hunting that I’ll be doing at the event, I’m also thrilled of the First Filipino Readers’ Conference, an event for the Filipino reader, by the Filipino reader from different bibliophilic communities such as book clubs and book bloggers. The convention also boasts of interesting discussions centering on the Filipino reader’s experience, the state of local publishing in the country and others.

For further updates, please visit The Filipino Reader Con site.

At this early I would like to thank the organizers who painstakingly planned this event and the support of their co-presenters and sponsors.

See you all there on September 14, 2011 at SMX Mall of Asia, Meeting Room 2.
Remember, registration starts at 1:00 PM
Be there! 🙂
